We can be cruising along, enjoying ourselves, when suddenly everything grinds to a sudden halt, the shock giving you whiplash. It can be something small, or something catastrophic, and suddenly you’re stuck in a place you never expected to be in, and you can’t seem to get yourself out.
The daily grind makes it almost impossible to put yourself first and lay the foundations for a strong mental health plan. Too often it’s easy to get caught up in the demands of everyday life, of relationships and family and work, every piece of your life demanding more and more from you until there isn’t much left.
There are a million different reasons why you might consider counselling, but the fact of the matter is this – in Australia we have a mental health crisis and counselling is becoming increasingly inaccessible, with waitlists miles long. Between work and family and the increasing demands of life, we are putting our mental health to the bottom of the to-do list, and it’s making everything just that little bit harder. Our founder, Antonia Jennings, saw a giant hole in the system and decided to start the foundations for Thinkful.
Thinkful was created for you. A safe space for the everyday human just trying to better themselves. A place of no-judgement, supportive solutions to life’s challenges.
We are also pleased to welcome clients with plan managed or self managed NDIS plans as part of your Capacity Building Support. We want to help you build your independence and skills to help you pursue your goals in life.
I’m Antonia - Counsellor & Therapist
I’ve worked in HR for over 20 years, counselling seasoned professionals through a varied range of challenges. I understand what it’s like to juggle the constant balance, and how easy it is to put yourself and your needs at the bottom of the food chain. I’ve been at a crossroads, and have experienced what it’s like to reinvent yourself, adapt and build your life up again during challenging times. With this experience, I offer to you a unique and practical approach to counselling, proposing solutions and a safe space for you to be heard and seen.
After working in the corporate world, I realised just how stigmatised the counselling space was, and how inaccessible it was to those who worked long hours and commuted. Checking in with your mental health is so far down the to-do list, it isn’t even a second thought. Benefiting from counselling myself, I realised that this space needed to be reinvented and more accessible to those who found the idea of marching into a sterile office cringe worthy. My vision was to create a safe space for open conversation, without the jargon so often put on therapy. So Thinkful was created – a thoughtfully designed, practical approach to mental health care, with online accessibility for even the busiest of people. A place for people to be heard, understood, and given the skills to empower themselves to move forward.
I am a member of the Australian Counselling Association with a Diploma in Counselling from the Australian Institute of Professional Counsellors.
I have completed Level 1 Training in Gottman Method Couples Therapy and use Gottman Method Couples Therapy in my work.
